Letter of Recommendation

To Whom it may concern,

I am writing a letter of recommendation for Jose Cruz for your consideration as a technical resource.

As the Design Director at the innovation firm Fahrenheit 212, I was in charge of managing a vast array of large media files. I organized and distributed content to various international agencies, under excruciatingly tight deadlines, with minimal margin of error. In this regard making sure the data was both redundant and flowing was critical to my team’s success. Knowing that Jose had rebuilt our network infrastructure with speed and security in place, I was able to confidently engage with agencies and clients.

I would like to relay a poignant example. During Hurricane Sandy, our main server was down. In fact, the lower third of Manhattan was without power for a week. Our office was located in that lower third. As a small agency, our network did not traditionally look at the “big IT picture”. But behind the scenes, Jose had secured all of our data onto secure locations allowing us to work remotely. We didn’t skip a beat. To this day, I am still amazed at his foresight and capabilities.

On a more personal example, my computer crashed. Jose was able to take my computer and salvage the pertinent media files in a timely manner. I was under deadline - that deadline was tight - and we still managed to amaze the client.

Jose also maintained a strong relationship with IT vendors. He was constantly on the lookout for emerging technology and software that were proven effective for our workflow. We were able to use cutting edge tools that seamlessly integrated with legacy systems. He managed to do this all within (or under) budget.

Finally, I must recommend Jose for his attitude. In his position as an IT Operations Director, the majority of his interactions happen when colleagues have problems and are frustrated. It is the nature of his business. To his credit, Jose always approached every situation with empathy, tact, and action. From my perspective, problems were always resolved beyond my expectations.

As a current employee of Johnson & Johnson who understands the value of interpersonal relationships, I would highly recommend Jose.

Sincerely,

Sean Ferry,

Sr. Manager, IXS
